Not always suitable for use on existing PVC windows
The product itself seems fine, and may well work perfectly for its intended use on bi-fold doors; I don't know, as I bought it for its secondary use as a handle to be used on windows, where internal shutters leave insufficient space for a standard handle. It is perfectly true that this handle takes up very little depth and is the answer to the window-with-shutters problem, BUT it cannot always be used as an easy substitute for the original handle, in that the retaining pin which secures the shaft to the rest of the unit, and the raised borders around the screw-holes, mean that a spacer has to be made, to lift this unit clear of the surface of the window. In brief: Yes, it does work as a substitute window handle, but you need to be able to make a spacer for it. Hence the reason for my 3-star rating. It's good, but not perfect. **************************************************** Response from Handles & Hinges: Thanks for your honest feedback. We have looked at making a spacer to solve this BUT in some cases this negates the low profile we are trying to achieve. In many cases the hole in the frame where the spindle goes is milled out bigger and takes the the pin (yours was not in this case). I have in the past come across this whilst fitting the handles and have used a Stanley knife to make the hole a little larger. I think I did that on the picture on the page. I will again look into making a suitable packer. Dylan - Service Engineer

Good replacement for original handle
This handle, whilst not being identical to the original handles fitted to our bi-fold doors, fitted fine after the spindle had been trimmed to length. Works perfectly well, and appears to be of good serviceable quality. Was dispatched and delivered very promptly by first class post. Handles & Hinges are an excellent company to deal with.
