Supply updates
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support in what can only be described as a challenging year and to bring you up to date with the supply challenges we in the UK are currently facing and how this impacts our business.
The main UK port of Felixstowe is working at reduced capacity with social distancing and with the stockpiling of PPE products space at port is at a premium. As such, almost every container shipment is being delayed with a large number experiencing additional delays of up to 6 weeks from planned date of arrival. The knock-on effect of this is that containers are now out of place.
Demand for DIY products has been unprecedented since the start of the global pandemic and many of our suppliers are still playing catch-up with extended lead times from Far Eastern suppliers also affected by Covid-19. Coupled with BREXIT, which is throwing up its own challenges in terms of imports & exports, we really are in the ‘perfect storm’.
Please rest assured that we have a lot of stock on order and deliveries due to arrive on a frequent basis, but we do envisage these delays continuing for the foreseeable future. We will do our best to keep you updated on any changes as they happen.
