How to Measure Your Window Hinges
Step 1: Check the orientation of your window
If the handle is on the SIDE of the window, you need SIDE Hung Window hinges. If the handle is at the bottom, you need TOP Hung Hinges.
Step 2: Measure the length of your window Hinges
The length is the track part that you can see when you open your window. If you can fit a larger hinge, do so for better weight distribution.
Step 3: Measure the width of the track
Measure the width of the track you just measured, which could be 15mm or 18mm. The most common one is 18mm, used on 90% of windows.
Step 4: Measure the Stack height of your Hinges
The stack height is the thickness of the hinge. It can be tricky to measure without removing the hinge, but hinge packers can help. On our hinge page please choose hinge packers if you are unsure of the stack height. This will cover any stack height problems.
