Keeping the window closed but pull the handle ito the open position, This will show a scre which is at the bottom of the base, unscrew it and remove. Then put the handle back in the locked postotion.
Remove the screw cover for the top end of the handle base to reveal another screw. If there is no handle cover you will be able to see the screw. Unscrew that and remove.
You should now have a locked window, now pull the handle off the window & it should come away in your handes.
How to fit a replacement espag window handle
Slide the square drive(piece of square section bar sticking out of the back of your handle assembly) through the hole in the window. Make sure the window is still closed and make sure the handle is also in the closed position.
Put a screw in hole that is exposed and fix into place
Now you can move the handle to the open position and another hole will be revealed. Put the other screw back in there and tighten.
You can now push the hndle shut and put the screw cover cap over the screw that can be seen.
